We have all read mission statements, and we would much sooner talk to you face to face about how we like to go about things, rather than present you with another. But briefly:
- our team is small, experienced, competent. The history of technology has shown many times the ability of small, capable, focussed teams to develop outstanding products. If we don't have all the required skills in-house, we can call on a network of trusted colleagues to fill in the gaps.
- our products are designed with elegance and economy in mind. This doesn't just mean cheapness, although that will usually be one of the benefits. On our hardware designs, we hate to use 40 components when 25 would do. We think carefully about exactly what is required and do our best to product efficient, balanced designs which fit their purpose and are straightforward to develop further.
The same philosophy applies to our software. Memory and computing power are now so cheap that inefficient, hastily-written code is often covered up by the power of the hardware. We prefer to write code that is efficient, light on resources and easy for us and you to understand.
- our office, like any office, gets pretty hectic from time to time. But that's not the way we like to work. There is no evidence that a pressure-cooker environment is helpful for developing products. For the health and sanity of our people, and for the quality of what we do, we offer a friendly, supportive environment with sensible working hours.
If you think we can help to bring your product idea to life, we would be delighted to hear from you.
